Lynne-Marie Ellis

27 years ago I interviewed this lady for a new position as a sort of PA. I can’t remember how many I interviewed but I can state that my interviewing technique was pretty poor then (and possibly hasn’t improved much). But there must have been something about Lynne that day  – or was I incredibly lucky that I chose the right one?

Certainly we were lucky she applied!

Anyway I don’t think either of us had any idea of the long journey we would go on together in seeing this company build from what it was back when she started in the first week of 1994 to the present day Micron2 with a global reach and a company that holds its own alongside much larger competitors. So much of that success is due to Lynne-Marie. Her dealings with both clients and staff  have continued to receive appreciation over the years from all sides and I know that many clients will miss her as much as us.

Her loyalty has been unwavering  and we have been through so many changes together. Thankfully she has ensured that she leaves behind a legacy of our good ways with our new team of Michelle, Rachel and Serena.

Unfortunately the current situation has meant that we could not have the sort of send-off that we would normally do (James and I will be seeing her again when we are able, some sunny day..). Until then we all wish her  a well-earned rest and a wonderful and long retirement with husband Dave.

Lynne’s last day is Christmas Eve 2020.

Thank you for everything Lynne-Marie.

Serena Moore

We are delighted to welcome Serena to our Office Team this month as Assistant Manager.

In this role she will be multi-tasking, involved in BRCGS audit clients, auditor allocations, meeting deadlines for the issue of reports and certificates and company accounts.

Serena comes from a very varied and interesting career background and having previously been involved in organising tracking systems for e bikes and weddings for the National Trust she will bring great admin and organisational skills to our set up.

Covid-19 Update

There have been several subtle changes to BRCGS procedures since the previous post (25/03/20).

For existing clients, if requested we continue to carry out Risk Assessments as part of the Certification Extension process. One significant change is that we now have to charge for the BRCGS fee for this, which is half the normal full audit fee for all risk assessment interviews since 1st June 2020.

The good news is that while we have been carrying out full on site audits in other countries e.g. China for a few weeks, we have also just started to resume them in the UK. This is good news for sites and for us frankly.

The BRCGS and all Certification Bodies working in the UK have been thinking hard about what will happen when those companies that have had an extension certificate will have to be fully audited later and how to resolve the bottleneck of audits that will result. One option from BRCGS is that companies that are normally due for audit later this year who have not had extended certificates may be able to move their re-audit dates without penalty, however we would also like all suppliers who have audits due in the next few months to consider whether we may do a full audit without resorting to the certificate extension programme.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss this.

Importantly they can be done in conjunction with a BRCGS Audit or as a stand-alone audit.
Ecocert IMOswiss AG is part of the ECOCERT Group based in France and has many years of experience in high quality services for seafood standards.
